Meet the GSN Team: Bekka…
Meet Bekka – Queen of Wholesale and Fitness Superstar
I joined GSN in August 2021 in the role of customer service. Since then, I’ve moved over to the wholesale side of the business, which has quickly become my absolute passion. I love looking after hundreds of our stockists across the UK and working with them to develop new and exciting opportunities every day. This dedication has earned me the title of “Queen of Wholesale”!
I also juggle many other titles, such as Super Mum to three energetic boys, Figure Bodybuilder, CrossFit Athlete, and Online Lifestyle Coach.
What Started You on Your Fitness Journey?
I’ve always been into health and fitness from a very young age. As a child, I danced and loved PE. As I got older, I stayed active through gym workouts, long bike rides, and fitness classes. I even qualified to teach Insanity Fitness classes, and once I put Craig (GSN Founder) and his football teammates through a gruelling pre-season session—burpees nearly killed them!
How Do You Stay Motivated to Reach Your Health and Fitness Goals?
My mum owned a gym during my childhood and taught fitness classes while juggling a busy life as a self-employed mum. My brother and I often tagged along to her step-aerobics classes after school. She’s my role model—the happiest, most positive, and energetic person I know. She’s the reason I’m so motivated and the person I am today.
What Has Your Fitness Journey Been Like?
I started CrossFit in 2016 and quickly became hooked. I loved the challenge and the incredible community. I began competing across the UK and enjoyed every minute of it. Around the same time, I developed an interest in bodybuilding. I was fascinated by how the body can change with exercise and nutrition.
In 2020, I decided to pursue bodybuilding seriously. I hung up my CrossFit gear, grabbed a stage bikini, and started working with a coach. I competed as an IFBB Figure Bodybuilder in 2022, winning a few medals along the way. GSN Chicken was a lifesaver during my competition prep—having pre-cooked, ready-to-eat chicken made the process stress-free.
After my bodybuilding competitions, I returned to CrossFit, missing the community and the intense workouts. Now, I’m building my strength back and enjoying the best of both worlds.
Tell Us About Your Day-to-Day Regime
Bodybuilding taught me that consistency is key. I don’t believe anyone is always motivated, but discipline keeps you on track. Even on cold winter mornings when I don’t want to get up at 4:30 am, discipline takes over. Goal setting is a huge part of my life—without goals, it’s easy to lose sight of your dreams.
I’ve recently added an ice bath to my morning routine. It’s a challenge because I hate the cold, but it’s a great way to step out of my comfort zone and improve my recovery.
My typical day looks like this:
- 4:15 am: Alarm, hydrate, cardio, short walk.
- 5:30 am: Gym session at Graft House Gym Hull.
- 7:30 am: School run and commute to work.
- 9:00 am: Work (I have the best job ever!).
- 2:00 pm: Lunchtime walk—gotta get those steps in.
- 5:00 pm: Finish work, collect the kids, and commute home.
- 6:30 pm onwards: Grocery shopping, homework, bath and bedtime for the kids, and prep for the next day.
- 8:30/9:00 pm: Bedtime.
Tips for Starting Your Day Right
Here are a few things that help me get up and start my day:
- A Good Bedtime Routine: I go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends. This helps build healthy habits.
- Lumie Lamp or SAD Lamp: Light therapy energizes me, especially during the dark winter. It improves mood and strengthens your circadian rhythm.
- Hydration: Drinking a litre of water first thing in the morning hydrates your body and kickstarts your day.
How Does GSN Help You Achieve Your Goals?
Life is non-stop for me, but GSN makes it easier. While multitasking, I can pop a Pot O Gold in the microwave for 6 minutes. I grab a protein bar as a post-workout boost before the school run.
